HAPPY 25TH MY LOVE

Feb 7:
I spent the whole day at JE library with zw and only when it was during the night, this silly boy asked to meet me.He wanted to spend the last minutes of his 24th with me and of course the first minutes of his 25th. It was so impromptu I had to go buy a cake before meeting him. He drove over at about 11pm and we decided to just head over to pasir ris park.Looked for a nice quiet spot and just sat there and admired the night scenery.I thought we could probably sat by the brickwaters but as I thought about my birthday 3 years ago( We were sitting by the brickwaters and there was a cockroach near me but this boy didn't tell me cos he was afraid I would freak out), I cringed away at that idea.

Happy birthday my dear!

Rushed this out so used a spare photo of us that was taken years back.Okay I looked horrible.

 Feb 8:
So I lied to bf that I wanna do my project in the day so I can only meet him in the evening to celebrate his birthday.Yes that was my initial plan but then I felt I should at least do him a card.I know Im getting lazy doing all these stuff, cos time and money are always issues when it comes to celebrations. It's like I wanna surprise him but I don't know what I can do within a short time frame and isn't too expensive. But I know Im gonna repay him many times more when we start working:)

I booked a table at Rokeby at Jalan Riang. I didn't tell him the name of the cafe we were going to but just told him the location of it. It was a little hard locating it as we walked through private estates, somemore I was wearing heels! When we finally reached that lane of cafes, we realized that we walked one big round when there was a short cut somewhere. At least we were not late for our reservation.

There was a few people chilling at the tables outside, but it was totally empty inside. We were brought to our table and then everything continued to be awkward. It felt like we reserved the whole cafe. But it was kinda cute when the staff asked if we wanted a change of the music to create a bit of that romantic atmosphere. LOL. Damn funny! To mask that awkward atmosphere, we tried to talk more. It did help a little but sometimes it feels as though we were being watched. Not in a bad way though.

Truffle fries for sharing

Mushroom aglio olio

We were trying so hard to eat slowly cos we were thinking of heading next door to Wimbly Lu for some sweet treats. But then, the barista walked over and whispered to me whether I wanted to order a cake. He gave me 2 choices and I just told him chocolate lava cake. It was so cute when that boy was wondering what's with all that secrecy. It was unexpected too. But since they asked then why not right.

Chocolate lava cake

Something happened when the lava cake came. The barista lighted for us and then I don't know over what stuff but we just kept laughing and the flame went off. Called the barista over and he lighted for us again. After that we laughed over something again and the flame went off. We felt so bad about it so when it was lighted for us again,we decided to do it quick. Took a few shots and then that boy hurriedly made a few wishes before blowing off the candle.

Yay glad everything went kinda smoothly.

We were thinking where to go after dinner. I think I'm getting better walking with heels cos we walked back from that place to Nex which was quite some distance away. And that boy occassionally forgot I was wearing heels and started pulling me off quickly while crossing the road. So I just experienced running in heels LOL!

We ended up at Happy Daze at Serangoon Gardens to catch a live match of Liverpool against Arsenal.

Best birthday present for that boy was of that win of 5-1.

A super belated CNY post

I don't know why but cny doesn't hold as much meaning to me anymore. There isn't much of the hype about it as I grew older.Except for the fact that I can collect ang paos, have steamboat and wear new clothes(fyi my dress ain't that new lol), doing things like spring cleaning and house-to-house visiting are super tiring and draining. It's a fat-loading festival too.

There's nothing interesting to blog about cny so I shall just let these few photos do the talking.

My weekend workouts

Finally found some time to exercise again. I'll forever be fighting my damn tummy bulge. Need to be more disciplined in eating cleaner and incorporating some exercises in between. This weekend was fruitful cos I did 3 sets for each listed on the list. Perpired a bucket, not literally. Always love the shiok feeling after working out but it's a mental challenge to get my ass off the seat to go workout.

What I did today

Made myself this yoghurt smoothie as my post workout drink.

My saturday workout

SWEAT MORE.BITCH LESS.

Table Manners

Yesterday's brunch at Table Manners at Changi City Point. Made a reservation a few days ago cos we were so kiasu. End up the place was not so packed. There were still seats around. We were allocated the outdoor seats which we didn't mind. I like the fact that the table was big and the seats were quite spacious. I felt super comfortable when I was eating cos there was so much room for movement-not like I fidget alot but you get the point.

I like their brunch menu so much cos we could customize our own lunch set. I had a hard time deciding which one to choose so I settled for baked salmon + truffle fries + scrambled eggs. I used to dislike truffle fries so much cos I had a bad experience somewhere when it smelt like the fries were fried in petrol or something. And that was the first time I tried truffle fries. But I got over it after I gave truffle fries a chance by giving it a go at Au Chocolat. Since then, I fell in love with truffle fries. Not a good thing though cos it is still a guilty treat.

The middle one is me! Not good enough to be a chef/baker but I love cooking and baking!

My set came first and there I went snapping photos. Couldn't get the right angle so it took me quite a few photos to get a good shot of it. Love every single item on my plate that I finished it completely. Fats, protein and carbs all in a plate. But it was unhealthy carbs though.

Pretty Xiu and Jojo!

My dearest Reika!

So cute lah this girl!

Jojo left first due to some family stuff so we hung around the mall and then sat down somewhere to talk and camwhore.

Artistry

Last sunday I met my secondary school volleyball mates for brunch at Artistry. And partly to celebrate our dear friend's birthday, though it was 2 days belated. Come to think of it,we have known each other for a decade already. This year marks the start of the 11th year. We should have had a proper celebration last year. But that day we missed out on a friend who has been busy flying to and fro-the blessings of being an air stewardess.

We sat at the outdoor area which was of a better idea cos of the good lighting for photography and another reason was the indoor dining area was kinda cramped up. People would be sitting side by side and I didn't like it cos there would be no privacy and you'll always be hearing what the neighbours were talking. The outdoor area had a few tall wooden tables and stools. The stools were so deceiving to the eye cos they looked light but oh boy they were so heavy! I guess it could really withstand really heavy weights.

The menu wasn't of much variety. I had a hard time deciding what to eat. Yes I'm a really picky eater that's why the girls let me choose. Ordered the crab burger, duck confit pesto and a side of truffle fries to share between the 4 of us. The crab burger tasted a little weird, probably just not to my liking. The squid ink bun tastes quite good surprisingly. Haha do not judge a burger bun by its colour! Truffle fries were fine. The best was the duck confit pesto. My first time having pesto pasta and I loveeeeeee it! After that day,I totally went to the supermarket to hunt for a jar of pesto to add to my collection of ingredients.

After the mains, we decided to order some little cakes to share. Settled for Red Velvet Cake and Tiramisu. I couldn't tahan the alcohol in the tiramisu. A little too much for me to handle. But the girls liked it. Red velvet was okay. Somehow I guess nothing can go wrong with ordering red velvet.

Nooraini's hub and baby girl came to join us after that. Both of them went to buy an ice cream cake and little Amelia chose it for herself. Got to know that her birthday was around the corner.

Happy birthday once again to the both of you!
