On 26 October,I suddenly received an email from Amore Fitness telling me that I've won an entry to this year's AWDO!I remembered reading the email on my phone while Baby and I were walking towards Pasir Ris Park for an evening jog.Yes I do bring my phone along when I run cos I have no motivation to run when there's no music.Music is my life wheeeeee!Upon reading it,I couldn't really believe that I won it.It's like a month ago,I was reading a blog and came to know of this giveaway thing by Gushcloud,so I just gave it a go,not really expecting myself to win an entry to the event.But after winning this,I was in a dilemma.I wasn't sure if I should join the event cos I will be all alone with lotsa ladies.I thought I might feel so awkward and out of place.But I decided to go anyway cos a 3-hours long workout will definitely help me lose a substantial amount of calories hehe!
I went down to Amore Fitness a few days later to collect my event tee and bib and they asked me to choose 1 out of 3 segments,which are the Tri Power Challenge,Dance Beats and Body.Mind.Soul.
1.Tri Power Challenge:
Basically,the tri power challenge is a 3-hours long segment consisting of CardioLatino,CardioBlitz and Kickboxing.
CardioLatino

So,to make good use of this chance of participating in the event,I purposely chose the segment which lasted the longest,which was the Tri Power Challenge.But another reason was because I wanted to try out kickboxing cos it sounds like it will really break me out in sweat in no time.At first,I was afraid I wouldn't be able to pull through the 3 hours but in the end I decided to just give it a shot.
I should have reached the event area earlier cos by the time I reached and deposited my bag,the event area was already super packed.I couldn't really find a spot to stand.Had no choice but the squeeze at the back.Thanks to my short sightedness,I couldn't really see the trainers on the stage and what they were doing.So I could just imitate people and see what they did.Even if they did wrongly I also don't know-just follow.Haha.It was a little awkward too cos I was right at the back and there were passers-by sitting behind and watching.I hope no one was judging me or even laughing at me then.
It got better after the first segment which was CardioLatino.Okay CardioLatino was a little tough cos the steps were kinda difficult.But luckily,kickboxing was next.We had a short water break during the transition to the next workout,so I quickly picked a spot further in front when other people were still drinking at the side.Kiasu me.So,the next workout started and boy,it got my heart rate up within a short span of time.It was easy to follow cos I could see clearer and no dance moves in this which makes it even more easy.An hour of kickboxing totally made me sweat buckets but it was so worth it!I had so much fun punching and kicking.Accidentally kicked someone too hahaha!The last segment was finally CardioBlitz.It became more of a cool down workout after the crazy kickboxing session but of course it isn't relaxing either.Some dance moves in it but I managed to catch up most of the time.It was quite fun too.
It was a super fruitful and exciting afternoon at AWDO.I might really consider joining Amore when I start working cos I would by then be able to afford it.
